I'm probably suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome after last Super 6 but, having see that 4th Cats are being allowed in the Sam Robison (8th June) and that the route is a mere 77miles, I'm seriously thinking about giving it a go.

Is there anyone-else daft enough to want to join me? Or can someone offer the required psychiatrict help I clearly need.

Its a classic race thru' the Trossachs. Far too hilly & long for me to contemplate in previous years but I've always wanted to do it and this year they use a finsihing circuit after going over the Dukes Pass etc. So I figure if I'm really toasted I can bail-out not too far from home. Details of the route & online entry can be found via the Braveheart site -

Well that was fun...not.

Spent at least two weeks sh1ting myself prior to the race having seen the course changed to include another large hill. My race lasted 11mins 34sec before a bunch pile up sent me a.o.t. into the ditch and left the bike hanging from a barbed wire fence. No major bodily damage but helment well cracked so it did it's job. Tried to race on but by Thornhill the adrenaline had been used up and the shoulder pain arrived. So that was that.

Chris Whittle also road and was in there until the last finishing lap at which point I think he'd had enough.

Maybe next year .... but I doubt it.

Duncan, glad that you're okay. It's good to see the club having a presence in races like this. Maybe a few others can join you next year?

Sorry to hear Duncan - seems you got off lightly compared to the fella from Falkirk CC. He ended up with broken ribs.

Hope to see you out soon
